    Antodya Ann Yojna

    Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)

    Under the National Food Security Act, 2013, a limit of 76.32 percent rural and 45.34 percent urban population of the total population of Maharashtra State has been given for getting foodgrains at subsidized rate. In order to include eligible and needy beneficiaries under the Food Security Act 2013, following decisions are taken

    1. The prospectus dated February 18, 2022 with the Government Decision under reference is hereby made 28
    2. Antyodaya Food Yojana ration card and beneficiaries should be selected within the limits of the population figures shown in front of each district in the attached prospectus for selection of beneficiaries from priority families.
    3. Field Offices should follow the procedure prescribed from time to time while fulfilling revised Ishtanka.
    4. Dated 17.7.2013. d. 17.12.2013, dt. 24.3.2015, dt. 13,10.2016, dated 3.3.2017 21.5.2018, dt.16.11.2018 and dt. 159.2021 as per Government Decision issued under the circular as well as dt.21.9.2017. Dated 24.10.2010 2 d. The general instructions issued vide Government letter dated 8.1.2020 shall remain in force
    5. The poorest of the poor households from the BPL are provided food grains (Wheat at Rs.2/- per kg and Rice at Rs.3/- per kg) under this scheme w.e.f. 04/09/2023. Under this scheme, a target of 15674 families was given to the Mumbai Rationing Area and accordingly ration cards have been issued to the beneficiaries.

      Extended Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) First Extension

      The Government of India further extended AAY with a target of 5.011 lakh beneficiaries to the State, under this scheme, Households headed by widows or terminally ill persons or disabled persons or persons aged 60 years or more or single women or single men with no assured means of subsistence or social support; all Primitive Tribal Households are given priority. Accordingly, Mumbai Rationing Area has issue ration cards to the beneficiaries.

      Second Extension of Antyodaya Anna Yojana

      The Government of India further extended AAY with a target of 4.81 lakh beneficiaries to the State, under this scheme, families falling under following categories have been identified and they are provided food grains. (a) Land less agriculture labours, marginal farmers, rural artisans / craftsmen such as potters, tanners, weavers, blacksmiths, carpenters, slum dwellers and persons earning their livelihood on daily basis in the informal sector like porters, coolies, rickshaw pullers, hand cart pullers, fruit and flower sellers, snake charmers, rag pickers, cobblers, destitute and other similar categories in both rural and urban areas; Accordingly, Mumbai Rationing Area has issued 3694 ration cards to the beneficiaries.

      Third Extension of Antyodaya Anna Yojana

      The Government of India the Third Expansion of Antyodaya Anna Yojana has given a target of 521500 beneficiaries to the state. Accordingly, Mumbai Rationing Area has issued 1757 ration cardsto the beneficiaries. Thus, total AAY beneficiaries in the Mumbai Thane Rationing area are 15574.*Government has issued a Circular on 11/9/2009 to all concerned officers about giving AAY ration cards on priority to HIV/AIDS persons and Leprosy Affected Persons whose names are included in BPL lists and within the target. In Mumbai AAY cards were issued to shelter less people.5159.
